Your Kitchen Remodel, Step by Step
By Valleywise Design and Remodel. ROC CR-60 #339879 · ROC KB-2 #357856. Updated 2026-10-19.
A kitchen remodel has two timelines worth understanding: the planning and material preparation before construction, and construction that happens in your home. Treating them as one number hides the decisions that matter.
The layout, customization, material availability, and any structural or permit requirements affect your schedule. Valleywise reviews those details with you before agreeing on the construction plan.
Before construction: scope, selections, and fabrication
We walk your kitchen, listen to how you use it, and discuss the budget range. Your itemized estimate defines your project before any deposit.
Cabinets and countertops need to be considered together. You can see full slabs at the Phoenix showroom and discuss custom or RTA cabinet options. The lead time for your actual selections belongs in the project schedule.
Preparation and rough work
The team plans access, protects the areas around the construction zone, and prepares the space for the agreed changes. Moving walls, plumbing, or electrical services affects what needs to happen before installation.
You receive a written update after every trade day and site visit so you can follow what happened and what comes next.
Cabinets, surfaces, and installation
The sequence depends on your scope and material readiness. Cabinet fitting, countertop measurements, fabrication, and installation need to line up with one another.
Ask which decisions need to be settled before work starts. Changes made during construction can affect the remaining work and its timing.
Finish work and the walkthrough
The finishing details and any remaining corrections are reviewed with the team. The walkthrough is also the time to ask about care and product information.
Valleywise’s 2 year workmanship warranty covers labor and workmanship. Materials and products carry their manufacturers’ warranties. We share the specifics for your selections and explain how to get help after completion.
How long will I be without a kitchen?
Ask for the construction window for your specific project, separately from design, approvals, and fabrication. A schedule for a kitchen that keeps its layout may differ from one that needs structural changes and extensive customization.
